Talon Test Systems VGPM

Talon Test Systems' Voice Grade Performance Monitor (VGPM) provides the ability to measure long term data transfer integrity on telephone lines. VGPM continuously monitors a data stream for sync loss and bit errors between an originating and answering computer connected over dial-up networks. VGPM monitors errors versus time and displays every packet error as it occurs on a real-time graph. A log file records individual errors within a packet.

To analyze traffic patterns, the integral analysis graphing tool filters the data to display packet errors that occurred in specific time slots. For day by day comparisons, the 3D analysis graphing tool, displays the errors for each day side by side. Using this tool you can identify error patterns over long periods of time.

VGPM can help you correlate data streams with external events, because the data errors in VGPM are time-stamped, any data collected using an external monitoring system, such as an analog data acquisition system, can be included in the VGPM delimited file to correlate external events with data loss.
